Update on Faith.....

Our visit with Dr. Lux on Monday went well. He is always so good with Faith and seems genuinely concerned with her health issues. He looked her over and after some conversation with both Faith and I, he decided on the following. He has doubled her Zyrtec intake daily, which he thinks will improve her eczema and fatigue. He has also added Prednisone to her daily medication for one week. This is a steroid, so he doesn't want to leave her on it very long, so we'll be back to see him again this coming Monday so he can evaluate her improvement. He also wants to basically re-evaluate all of her inhaled medications. He said that he may refer us to an ENT to have an adenoidectomy and I stared at him very blankly. Faith had an adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy when she was 3 years old. I reminded him that they had already been removed. He said that when they remove the adenoids at such a young age, there is a chance that they will grow back. I have never heard of this, so I was very "dumbfounded" to say the least. So, we'll be back in his office on Monday. I went in on Monday hoping that he could take her off some medications, and we've added two more a day. It's very frustrating, but I will say that she's been sleeping better for the past three days than she has for the past three months. Her night coughing has pretty much stopped all together and she's been eating very well. The eating may be attributed to the steroids, that is one of the side effects of them. So, that's basically all he said. He did mention that she may have reflux, but didn't go into much detail about it, so maybe he has ruled it out for one reason or another. He said her ears look great, still a little red, but the steroids should take care of that as well. Back to Springfield on Monday. I'll let you all know what we find out.
